NOTICE OF TEMPORARY HAUL ROUTE CHANGE – Victoria Street South

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and our contractor have been advised of upcoming work along a section of Victoria Street South between Ridout Street and Strachan Street.  This work is not being performed on behalf of the Port Hope Area Initiative.

Enbridge Gas Inc. will be conducting gas line work beginning August 12 that will continue through to the end of the month. One lane of the road will remain open to local traffic but there could also be a full closure for shorter periods of time.

In order to continue the safe removal and transportation of low-level radioactive waste, there will be times our haul route may temporarily need to be adjusted. Trucks may be observed travelling a short distance along Sullivan Street, Bramley Street South and Ridout Street before returning to the regular haul route along Toronto Road to and from our long-term waste management facility.

Please be aware of increased activity in the area and obey posted signage.

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories is committed to the safety of the public, its workers and the environment while undertaking this community-requested solution to a longstanding environmental issue.
