CNL is carefully planning a gradual return to cleanup work in the community. We anticipate that some operations will begin to resume in the next month, on a phased basis, in a safe and methodical manner.
At this time, only activities that ensure CNL licensed activities are safe and secure and that the environment is protected are being performed. This is in response to the directives of the federal/provincial governments, public health authorities and CNL’s health and safety experts on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Work on PHAI construction and remediation sites is significantly different than typical municipal and residential construction projects. The cleanup work we are engaged in requires many layers of oversight, including radiation protection and environmental monitoring, which means a significant increase in the number of people needed to operate our sites. We are obligated to ensure that the work being performed is completed in a safe manner with the appropriate protocols in place.
We are all eager to resume full operations. In order to do so safely, we are working closely with our contractors to ensure all necessary safety protocols and controls will be in place to mitigate the potential for any spread of illness.
CNL will continue to provide regular updates on resumption activities, revised schedules and timelines as they are finalized.
At this challenging time, we remain focused on our commitment to ensuring safety of the public, our workers and the environment.
